Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

HomeThis is a featured page

This site is dedicated to my passion for growing aquatic ecosystems in the comfort of my own home. I currently have 3 aquariums with a variety of plants and fish, each with its own style and attitude. I hope to use this site to inform and indulge those of you who enjoy the hobby and those who have the interest and just need a little nudge out the door. I plan to put updates of my tanks as they mature and evolve and keep you up to date with my latest methods, tricks, ideas and advice.
I hope you enjoy!!!

UPDATE - 10/19/2006

I have, as of today, ordered bulk fertilizer from Greg Watson, an online wholesaler who sell specific nutrients. I purchased the following: KNO3 (Potassium Nitrate), K2SO4 (Potassium Sulfate), KH2PO4 (Mono Potassium Phosphate), and a trace element mix. I have become increasingly aware that my plants in my 80 gallon tank have a nitrate deficiency, probably sulfate as well. The nitrate is easy to see, since old leaves are dying off much more quickly than they should and some new leaves are showing yellowing even as they are still sprouting. In short, my fish aren't pooping enough. I believe this is also the cause of a black hair algae outbreak that has taken a hold of my Sag grass and Crypts. I hope to buy a canister filter soon as well, which will help filter out some of the tiny dust particles that are drifting about in my water column.
